1. Scope This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows:
1.1 Replacement: This standard applies to electric motor-driven floor polishing (including waxing and buffing), scrubbing and grinding, scarifying and carpet shampooing appliances primarily designed for industrial and commercial use, with or without attachments, includin g appliances incorporating wet and/or dry suction which are not within the scope of IEC 335-2-10. Appliances incorporating wet and dry suction shall also meet the appropriate requirements for industrial vacuum cleaners. Industrial and commercial uses are, for example, cleaning and floor treatment in shops, offices, hotels, schools, hospitals a nd factories. This standard does not apply to: - automatic floor treatment machines for which a standard is under consideration; - appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as a corrosive or
